Meet Nat, Founding Director of The CONNECT Initiative
Hi, I’m Nat — founder of The CONNECT Initiative and a passionate believer in the power of authentic human connection.
CONNECT was born from a simple but powerful idea: that no one should feel alone. After years of working in the healing and wellness space, I saw a deep need for more than just personal growth — people were craving real community, safe spaces, and meaningful relationships. So in 2023, I hosted a small gathering on Ocean Grove beach. What started as a single sunrise session has grown into a movement reaching across the Bellarine, Geelong, Surf Coast, and beyond.
What continues to move me most is witnessing people show up and connect with strangers in the most beautiful way. It’s not just what we’re doing — it’s the energy, the intent, and the heart behind it.
I created CONNECT to be the space I wished existed — inclusive, welcoming, and deeply human. Every session invites people to move, share, heal, and most importantly, connect.
Thank you for being here. Together, we’re bringing the world back together, one connection at a time.

OUR STORY
What began as a simple sunrise gathering on Ocean Grove Main Beach has grown into something far greater than we ever imagined. CONNECT is no longer just a place to move or meditate — it’s becoming a living ecosystem of connection, belonging, and human warmth.
Through movement, mindfulness, breath, and shared moments of presence, we’ve watched strangers become community, and community become something that feels like home. These experiences have shown us what’s possible when people feel safe, seen, and supported.
And now, CONNECT is evolving again.
We’re growing — together, everywhere.
What started as a local gathering has blossomed into a movement that reaches far beyond one beach, one town, or one moment in time. CONNECT is expanding into an ecosystem that brings people together wherever they are — through conversations, circles, collaborations, and future gatherings that will continue to ripple outward.
As we take a winter pause from hosting events, we’re using this season to deepen our roots and dream into what’s next. Our mission remains the same: to create spaces — physical, digital, and communal — where people can breathe, reflect, move, and truly belong.
Whether you’re seeking personal grounding, meaningful connection, or a community that feels like home, you’ll find it here. And as CONNECT grows, so will the possibilities for how we gather, how we heal, and how we come back to each other.

OUR MISSION
Bringing People Together Through Connection
At The CONNECT Initiative, our mission is to cultivate a world where human connection is woven back into the fabric of everyday life. We are a grassroots movement nurturing local communities and networks that support belonging, wellbeing, and shared humanity.
We believe that when people feel grounded, welcomed, and truly seen, something transformative happens — individuals soften, communities strengthen, and a deeper sense of purpose emerges. Connection becomes not just a moment, but a way of being.
CONNECT is no longer just about gatherings or events.
It is an expanding ecosystem of belonging — a human‑centred antidote to loneliness, disconnection, and the fast‑paced isolation of modern life. Through movement, mindfulness, story, stillness, and shared experience, we are reweaving the threads that bring people back to themselves, back to each other, and back to community.
As we take a winter pause from hosting events, our mission continues to grow. We’re dreaming into new ways of gathering, new ways of supporting one another, and new ways of creating spaces — physical, digital, and communal — where people can feel safe, supported, and deeply connected.
Whether you’re seeking connection, offering your gifts, or simply longing for a place to belong, there is space for you here. Together, we are stitching a new narrative of humanity — one rooted in presence, purpose, and profound connection.
TOGETHER WE ARE CONNECT

OUR VISION
A World Woven With Connection
Imagine a world where wellbeing isn’t something we pursue alone — but something we create together.
A person steps into their first CONNECT experience — maybe unsure, maybe hopeful — and leaves feeling grounded, welcomed, and part of something real. Across town, a facilitator discovers CONNECT and finds not just a place to share their gifts, but a community that values depth, presence, and human warmth. These moments ripple outward, strengthening individuals, families, neighbourhoods, and entire communities.
As CONNECT grows, so does its impact.
What began as a simple gathering on the beach is evolving into a connection ecosystem — a living network of people, practices, and places that nurture belonging. An ecosystem where movement, mindfulness, story, stillness, and shared humanity weave together to create cultures of care.
Our vision is to build communities where connection is part of everyday life — where people feel safe to show up as they are, where practitioners and space‑holders are supported, and where wellbeing is a shared journey rather than a solo pursuit.
Whether through future gatherings, community collaborations, or new ways of coming together, CONNECT is committed to creating spaces that bring people back to themselves, back to each other, and back to what truly matters.
This is our vision — a world woven with connection, belonging, and shared humanity.
And we’re only just beginning.
Uniting For Connection
Our Membership with Ending Loneliness Together
At CONNECT we believe that true well-being begins with a sense of belonging. That’s why we’re proud to be an organisational member with Ending Loneliness Together (ELT) – Australia’s national coalition dedicated to raising awareness of loneliness, driving evidence-based solutions and creating stronger, more connected communities.
Through this membership, we’re amplifying our mission: bringing people together, ending isolation and nurturing meaningful connection across every age and stage of life.
We are growing—together, everywhere.
The membership between CONNECT and Ending Loneliness Together (ELT) brings together national expertise and local action to create meaningful social impact. ELT provides the research, evidence-based strategies, and national framework to address loneliness at scale, while CONNECT offers on-the-ground experiences, community events, and practitioner networks that turn those strategies into real-world connection. Together, we amplify each other’s strengths—combining data-driven insight with human-centred practice—to build more inclusive, connected communities where everyone feels they belong.
